Description: A Roman architect whose musical compositions are recorded here for the first time, Rainaldi wrote closely in style to Rossi and Carissimi but is distinguished by the employment of most of the musical figures of Baroque rhetoric including daring modulations and unexpected and harsh dissonances. It's nice to see Tactus finally provide English translations and, no, Volume 1 was never released in the U.S. Go figure... Italian-English texts. Rosita Frisani, Cristina Iannicola (sopranos), Romabarocca Ensemble; Lorenzo Tozzi.
