Description: Pupils of Chopin at various times during his career in Paris. You know Tellefsen from the volumes of his piano music on the Polish label Acte Préalable; Mikuli spent four years as student and copyist and later toured as champion of Chopin's compositions; Liszt said of Filtsch "When this little one begins to tour, I will have to close up shop." but the Transylvanian died in Venice at 14 of peritonitis - most of his compositions are presented here; Gutmann began his studies with Chopin in 1834 and was devoted to the master for the rest of the latter's life - these pieces stand apart from the majority of his salon-style works for their Chopinesque characteristics.
