Description: Here is the World Premiere Recording of the 1757 version of this opéra-ballet (the Erato Minkowski of 1992 is the 52-minute first version of 1748 while the Alpha disc we offered back in April 2011 was a transcription of that work for voices and two viols). Rameau went back to the later nine years later, getting rid of the no longer topical prologue, adding a new entrée and completely revising another. The work as recorded here is 146 minutes long, its three love-related entrées titled L'Enlèvement d'Adonis, La Lyre enchantée (which contemporaries liked the best, saying that it was like Rameau in his youthful prime) and Anacréon. 3 CDs. French-English texts. Virginie Pochon, Caroline Mutel, Amel Brahim-Djelloui, Magali Perol-Dumora (sopranos), Karine Deshayes (mezzo), Anders Dahlin, Davy Cornillot (tenors), Pierre-Yves Pruvot, Jean-Sébastien Bou (baritone), Les Nouveaux Caractères; Sébastien d'Hérin.
