Description: We last met with an all-Busch CD just eight months ago (03O067); only two of the items recorded here were on that disc while the remaining hour's worth are * - First Recordings. The music ranges from a Mozartian lightness and clarity to a not-quite-Regerian density of counterpoint in late Romantic style. Although the clarinet in all of these compositions was that of his amateur wife, the string parts more likely had his Busch Quartet colleagues in mind. Bettina Beigelbeck (clarinet), Busch Kollegium Karlsruhe.
