Description: The headline above says it all: the archive is a literal chest of manuscripts only given to the guitarist Angelo Gilardino to open in 2001; he has edited the entire collection for publication. The music is divided into three parts: 1) Works dedicated to Segovia which he never played, earlier works which were thought to be lost (possibly in the 1936 plundering and torching of his house in Barcelona by the left-wing revolutionaries), 2) Works he did perform but whose texts he modified and 3) the works by Gilardino and Alvaro Company which were not written expressly for Segovia but which refer to him and which he included in the archive. A total of 12 first recordings and, of course, many others in their original versions, without Segovia's alterations. 7 CDs. Ermanno Brignolo (guitars).
