Description: These works are all from a large collection belonging to a Swiss silk merchant and amateur musician, half from the Mannheim School and half from northern Italy (J.C. Bach’s was written while he was in Milan), and show the wide variety of compositional responses to the two-violins-and-bass genre in the pre-Classical, early Classical and Classical periods.
