Description: A pianist and conductor as welll as composer, Józef’s c.1866 sonata is a generous and big-boned work of almost 38 minutes in four movements which reveal elegant sophistication, expressive depth and, in the scherzo, buoyant playfulness. The two joint compositions (1848 and 1853) are pieces the brothers cooked up in their early teens, designed for showing off their command of their respective instruments.
