Description: The Antiche danze and Gregorian preludes (“Church Windows”) are arranged by Respighi from their original orchestral versions and retain the vivacity, color and poignancy of the originals. Much else is early work, quite under-represented, e.g. the A minor sonata and Andante in F (both from 1895-96), writen in student days and which show the early influence of Schubert, while the 1898 suite shows inspiration from Tchaikovsky. 2 CDs.
