Description: After four discs of F.X. Richter, this label now turns to a slightly better-known (but still not often recorded) Czech baroque composer. Tůma’s C minor Requiem was written occasion of the transfer of Emperor Charles VI’s remains to the sarcophagus in the Capuchin Crypt in Vienna. Tůma was well thought of by Empress Maria Theresa, who probably personally commissioned the Miserere.
