ANTONIO ROSETTI (1750-1792): Violin Concertos in C, Murray C5, in D, Murray C7 and in F, Murray C11.

Description: All five of Rosetti’s authentic concertos (the other two came out on cpo in 2005) are inspired by both French influences and the Mannheim violin concertos of the local concertmaster Ignaz Fränzl and his colleague Carl Joseph Toeschi although Rosetti’s relative restraint in this regard is also proof that they were written for the local musicians at the Oettingen-Wallerstein court back in the late 1770s.
