Description: The Sinfonietta is an arrangement of Seiber’s first string quartet and is clearly influenced by Hungarian folk music and Kodály’s style; the Suite (1942) is a Neo-classical piece inspired by a little-known Burgundian composer of the early 17th century; the 1944 Fantasia mixes serial and tonal procedures while the two violin-and-piano works (from 1954 and 1960) are the most modern of this program. Nina Karmon (violin), Oliver Triendl (piano), Württemberg Chamber Orchestra Heilbronn; Levente Török.
