CÉSAR MORAIS (1918-1992): Cello Concerto, Suite for Strings.

Description: The tiny biography tells us that Morais was pianist, organist, conductor and composer and that his output, sacred and secular, was vast. The two works here tell us that he could be both a neo-Romantic with an enviable ability to spin gorgeous melodies in a concise work which is fully in classical form (the cello concerto) and also could add a slightly piquant dash of neo-classicism to the mix and produce a five movements in the finest tradition of "Suites for Strings" from various European countries.
