Description: Period instruments add particular flavor to these chamber works, the earlier (1834 and for two violas) packed full of rhythmic energy and possessing a Weberian/Mendelssohnian scherzo while its disc-mate from 1850 is Onslow's penultimate composition. Using two cellos, it exudes a Romantic lyricism throughout with a marked Slavic flavor in its finale. Le Salon Romantique. 2007 release.
