Description: One of the establishers of the French clarinet school, Lefèvre provides in these undated works from around the turn of the 19th century the typical French mixture of bright, agile virtuosity and grateful melody in a late Classical manner owing much, of course, to Hoffmeister and Mozart. The first four quartets were offered on this label in August of last year (08L039).
