Description: Franck's mass was originally written for orchestral forces in 1860 (two whole recordings of it in the last 15 years) but he revised it for this combination in 1872 and this appears to be its only recording. The remaining works, from 1858-60, are examples of the mass of unknown liturgical compositions which he needed to produce throughout his 33-year tenure as chapel master at St. Clotilde.
