Description: Not too many violin trios around, are there? All of Hermann's works here date from c. 1855-62 and show the skill and lyricism one would expect from a student of Mendelssohn and of Ferdinand David. The two five-minute pieces by Eichhorn burst with virtuosic demands - making it all the more startling that they were written for his 9- and 10-year-old sons to perform in the early 1830s! Friedemann Eichhorn, Reto Kuppel (violins), Alexia Eichhorn (violin, viola), Alexander Hülshoff (cello).
