Description: A cursory glance at the listing above or at the disc's title "Vivaldiana - Venetian Flute Music by Vivaldi and his Contemporaries" would give you no clue that almost nothing here is an original work by any of the composers, some being compendia adapted for recorder or other instruments (the latter readapted for recorder here) - especially the "Vivaldi/Sieber" sonata which comes from several different Vivaldi works from several different genres - some being recorder arrangements of violin or flute originals. But it all sounds wonderfully entertaining, with Veracini's (real) recorder sonata the crown jewel of the recital. Michael Form (recorder), Mélanie Flahaut (bassoon), Delphine Biron (cello), Dirk Börner (harpsichord, organ).
