Description: The second Huber chamber music recording gives us an early Phantasie-Sonata from 1871 with a youthful Brahmsian feel, and two mature works, from 1897 and 1900, where one can feel Huber bridging the gap between Brahms and Reger. The Appassionata is by far the longest here at 30 minutes and, being based on material from an early violin concerto, has an orchestrally conceived piano part and small cadenza-like moments in its long first movement. Gilles Colliard (violin), Timon Altwegg (piano).
