Description: Prague was a crossroads for musicians in the early as well as the middle and late 18th century; not only did Bohemian and Moravian composers and instrumentalists pass through on their way to better employment elsewhere but German, Polish and Italians passed through and left manuscripts behind. Such are the sources of these mostly late Baroque pieces which mostly date from the 1720s and 1730s; two, however, are late enough to be in the new galant style (Jiránek and Tuma). 2 CDs.
