Description: Fans of the hurdy-gurdy won't want to pass this up! This is the deluxe version of the street-player's instrument, with organ-like wooden pipes and hurdy-gurdy type strings and the music was all written for the King of Naples, who played the instrument. The main work is the anonymous 15-minute concerto which is quite up to Haydn's professional standard and which could be by Adalbert Gyrowetz or maybe by Johann Sterkel; Orgitano's little 5:45 symphony also uses the instruments and is one of three he wrote for the princess of Naples who later became Maria Theresa, the Austrian Empress. Matthias Loibner, Tobier Miller, Thierry Nouat (lire organizzati), Ensemble Baroque de Limoges; Christophe Coin.
