Description: More first recordings of David's chamber music, the trio and quartet more suitable for the concert hall than the salon but his other four pieces recorded here suit the latter admirably and this is also where the Lee, Musard and Vieuxtemps works - based respectively on motifs from David's operas Herculanum and Lalla-Roukh and his symphonic ode Le Désert - would have had their greatest effect. Jean-Jacques Dünki (1850 Erard piano and c.1845 Kunz pianino), Ensemble Baroque de Limoges, Quatuor Mosaïques.
