Description: Several of these works were unpublished until well after Britten's death so it shouldn't surprise us that ten minutes of World Premiere Recordings are included. Everything on the disc except Lachrymae dates from 1925-37 and one of the premieres, Valse, dates from as early as 1925. In another - the second of the Pieces (1931) - you may be surprised to find the influences of Schoenberg and Stravinsky. Matthew Jones (violin, viola), Annabel Thwaite (piano).
