Description: Hungarian and Romanian gypsy music performed on violin, cimbalom, viola, hurdy-gurdy and double bass rubs shoulders with the music Liszt derived from it. Only two of the Rhapsodies are played on the piano by itself - and those versions are steeped in the enthusiasms of the moment since this is a live recording (Targu Mures, Romania 11/3/2012). The gypsy band accompanies the piano in Nos. 11 and 14 and the cimbalom accompanies it in No. 10. One hates to call something like this "crossover". Let's just call it fun! Ferenc Vizi (piano), József Csurkulya Jr. (cimbalom), Ensemble Cifra.
