Description: Known to posterity for his large number of anthems, Greene wrote a fairly small quantity of orchestral music. The overtures date from the 1740s and show the influences of Geminiani and Handel on a composer who was a link between the English generation of Eccles and Croft and that of Boyce and Arne.
