JÓZEF ZEIDLER (1744-1806): Mass in D.

Description: We had a “pastoral mass” from this Polish composer ten months ago (02R018). Now we get a full-scale, hour-long standard mass setting which actually has a date - 1769. The music is festive and bright - pairs of trumpets shining through the string orchestra - and the soprano parts are highly virtuosic and the work is fully in line with Viennese Classical style.
