Description: Horn trios from French Classical to French and German Romantic. We’ve had Kahn works before which were in the Brahmsian vein but this one, from 1923, is youthfully fresh and lively; pity it’s only 11 minutes long. Koechlin’s pièces are petites - only eight minutes - but are otherwise unavailable, so horn collectors fan think of this disc, counting the Duvernoy, as half-new-stuff rather than half-Brahms. Felix Klieser (horn), Andrej Bielow (violin), Herbert Schuch (piano).
