Barbaric Beauty - Telemann and 18th century Dance Manuscripts

Description: The second disc recently to showcase the actual musical sources behind Polish influences in Telemann's music (we didn't offer the first one, on Analekta), this disc contains 15 pieces by Telemann (movements from works and dances from his own, handwritten manuscript of Polish Dances) and 30 authentic folk pieces from two manuscript collections in Slovakia. The guest violinist was a founding member of the period-instrument Slovak ensemble Musica Aeterna who also specializes in 18th century Central European folk music.
