JOHN CAGE (1912-1992): The Works for Piano, Volume 9 - Haiku, Sixteen Dances (ed. Walter Zimmermann [b.1949]).

Description: The Haiku of 1950-51 are just what they say they are: 5+7+5 "sound events" which last less than a minute each. From the same period, the Dances as recorded here originate from a manuscript for solo piano which may have been used at rehearsals for the 50-minute dance piece by Merce Cunningham who provided Cage with the choreography and left the composer to provide the music.
